New Vision University (NVU) was established in 2013 in Tbilisi, Georgia, as a private, non-profit institution. Its mission is to expand human vision through education, research, and innovation, fostering an open, innovative, and collaborative academic environment. NVU is an ideal choice for international students from countries like India, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Arab nations, seeking high-quality education at an affordable cost in a safe and vibrant European setting.
NVU ranks among the top 101-200 universities globally in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG3: Good Health and Well-being), reflecting its commitment to advancing public health. The university hosts a state-of-the-art research center equipped with cutting-edge technology from Carl Zeiss, including Georgia’s first super-resolution microscope. NVU actively participates in significant international and national research projects, enhancing its academic reputation and providing students with opportunities to engage in groundbreaking research.
Locally, NVU is ranked 24th among Georgian universities, establishing it as a leading institution in the country. Globally, it is listed among the top 9,800 universities for medical studies, making it a competitive choice for students pursuing medical and other academic programs in an international setting.
NVU is officially accredited by the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport and recognized by the National Educational Accreditation Committee of Georgia. Its medical programs are accredited by prestigious international organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), the Medical Council of India (MCI), and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). These accreditations enable graduates to pursue careers in numerous countries, although there are some concerns from the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC) regarding the medical program.
The main campus is located in the heart of Tbilisi, Georgia, at 11 Nodar Bokhua Street, Tbilisi 0159. Tbilisi, a vibrant city along the Mtkvari River in the Lower Caucasus Mountains, offers easy access to the international airport, city center, public transportation, and major shopping centers. NVU also operates a campus in Derby, United Kingdom, in a historic building dating back to 1876, providing students with a culturally rich study environment.
NVU offers a wide range of programs taught in English, catering to international students, including those from Arab countries, India, Nigeria, and Pakistan. These programs include Medicine (Doctor of Medicine), a 6-year program with practical training at the university’s hospital; Dentistry, a 5-year program with advanced clinical training; Business Administration, a 4-year program focusing on leadership and management skills; Law, a 4-year program covering international and comparative law; and Political Science and Diplomacy, a 4-year program preparing students for diplomatic careers.
NVU’s tuition fees are affordable compared to other European universities, making it an attractive option for students with limited budgets. The Medicine program costs approximately 6,200 EUR in the first year, with a 25% discount reducing it to 4,650 EUR from the second year onward. The Dentistry program costs 4,500 EUR in the first year and 3,375 EUR from the second year. These fees include educational materials, language enhancement courses, and student services. Scholarships and student loan options are available based on academic eligibility.
The application process requires submission of prior academic records and passing entrance examinations. NVU’s acceptance rate ranges between 30-39%, indicating a selective admission process. International students, including those from Arab countries, may require a long-term study visa (Type D), with registration taking about 3 weeks and visa processing around 4 weeks. Specific requirements vary by nationality; for example, Indian students must pass the NEET exam for the Medicine program. Edubrink, a leading educational technology company, provides comprehensive support for international students, including guidance on visa and academic requirements.
